Iron This On When You Get Home

Superchunk. Even with this latest renewed time in the spotlight thanks to everyone and their brother having that "Hey, I love these guys! Where have they been!" moment last year when they released Majesty Shredding, I still don't think they get their due. I love this band. I used to have a cassette for my car that had Foolish on one side and Here's Where the Strings Come In on the other. It was one of the best cassettes I've ever played in my car, and, in fact, I'm pretty sure I destroyed it from over play.

The cassette was the soundtrack to the second best Taco Bell trip in the history of drinking in Springfield with my friend Dee. We listened to "Driveway to Driveway" about six times and sang along instead of ordering our food. It was incredible.

The best trip to Taco Bell with Dee didn't even take place in Springfield. It took place at the Brown Street location after the eyesinweasel show at Canal Street. The soundtrack? "A Summer Song" by Chad & Jeremy. I said one of the crudest things I've ever said to some jerk who was making faces at us. I won't repeat it here, but he had it coming and I regret nothing.

SPRING!!!!

Julia and I got back out on the trail today. It felt wonderful getting out in the sun and walking. I do know that I am going to need new shoes. Now, back to watching basketball for the rest of the day.

Cool seeing Butler win last night against Pittsburgh, but man a ridiculous finish! Not a good sign when you have to track down the director of officials to explain two different calls. I also like that Phil Martelli is on the pre-game show on Tru. It has been a good week of basketball.

So, the computer that was used mainly for the radio show finally crashed a few weeks ago. I have not been able to add anything to the station as a result. This is rather unfortunate as I had just rebooted the station! Today, I finally sat down and worked out the issues on our other computer and it seems like we've got the station back on track. This amounts to basically a second reboot in six months, but I think it is worth it so that I can play Amon Duul and Minor Threat back to back.

Not much going on in the Perfectly Lethal Universe, though I have been busy transcribing Dr. Zoome's latest project untitled Dr. Zoome Presents. You see, someone thought it was a good idea for him to make mix tapes. Two weeks later there are 12 new tapes to listen to. And they all rule, of course. I may get track listings up in the future, though, by the time I catch up he will have 45 more made. Like Jordan before him, there is no stopping Zoome.
